Grace, Sandy and Bill flew back home yesterday. My Mom and I are staying for another week. The only problem with Southern Italy in August is the heat and humidity. This year has been especially bad; reminds us of Atlanta. They haven’t had rain for 5 months. We are spending a lot of time in cafes and at the pool!

We celebrated Sandy’s birthday at one of our favorite restaurants in Sorrento, the Paruchianno.

We met 3 relatives for a wonderful 5 1/2 hour lunch yesterday. My Aunt Giovanna’s son, Massimo, was 3 years old the last time my Mother saw him. We had lunch with Massimo and his 2 children, Chiara and Matteo. They run a Bed and Breakfast called La Misma Luna in the nearby town of Meta.

We took our annual trip to the Isle of Capri. The crowds were even bigger than usual but we had a great time.

Yesterday we left Tuscany and stopped in Orvieto for lunch on the way to Rome where we dropped off Allison 😦 and headed on to beautiful Sorrento.

We had a wonderful day visiting a few wineries. First we visited ColleMassari near Montalcino and the visited an old favorite; Poliziano near Montepulciano. Both were wonderful!

We spent the day in beautiful Varenna today. What a pretty little town! We had a great lunch with an incredible view.

Bill ordered Spaghetti Bolognese the other night but they ran out. We went back again today and the chef took care of Bill!
