Last night we went to a concert featuring 3 Neopolitan Tenors. It was awesome. We were expecting a big concert in a venue like you would see in the US but it was a small concert room that seated maybe 100.

And yet another nice day in Sorrento culminating with dinner in the Marina Grande at Da Emilia and a surprise fireworks display.

We had a nice day in Sorrento starting with an excellent pizza at a new (to us) Pizza place called Franco’s near Piazza Lauro and the Circumvesuviano station. Then we walked through a lemon grove to checkout the progress on restoring the Lorelei, and old hotel that we used to stay at but has been abandoned for 10 plus years. We ended the day with a nice dinner at one of our favorites, The Garden. The only issue has been the heat. It is a bit hot and humid this time of year; need to get back to out April/May schedule!

We left Cortona yesterday and stopped for lunch in Frascati on our way to Sorrento.

Today we toured a new winery. Leuta is a smaller winery where our friend Jenny from Poliziano now works. Then we spent the rest of the day in Montepulciano and had dinner at another of our favorites, La Grotta in Cortona.

We had a wonderful day touring wineries. We went to our favorite, Poliziano and a new one, Avignonesi for lunch. All around great day!

We grabbed our rental car in Rome and drove to Cortona. We had dinner and some fantastic wine at our favorite restaurant, La Logetta.

We are in Rome today and heading back to the U.S. tomorrow. Here are a few final pics……
One fun happening from yesterday was when Gennaro, the owner of our favorite wine bar and restaurant brought over the wine maker of a favorite white wine of Campania (Falanghina). He also brought over a bottle of the wine and said “I have here the Falanghina grape, the wine and the wine maker.”
Yesterday, we visited with my cousin Massimo and his family at their home in Meta. They then drove us to Napoli for a tour of some of the places where my family lived. Good times…..
