Ask for room away from Street on the piazza. This is where we normally stay – great place.Directions: Take Vaporetto (water bus) #1 to S. Angelo stop. Upon departing, walk straight to a tall brick building. Take the alley on the left of the building & follow it around the corner. Cross the first bridge on the left. Go straight to a courtyard on the right. This is the hotel’s courtyard.

Nice restaurant on the main street in town. It is also very good but more expensive.

Right around the corner from San Antonino Square.
Good Pizza. Can get a bit noisy and smokey outside – right on the street.

Via San Maria Della Grazie 6. Just off San Antonino Square.
Our favorite Restaurant in Sorrento.
Very good food, good prices. Everything is great, very reasonable. Pizza, Spaghetti alla Cozzi (Mussels), Spaghetti with Clams, Gnocchi (potato dumplings) ala Sorrentina, Eggplant Parmesean, Veal, Prosciutto with Mozzarella, etc., etc. – We usually eat here a lot when we are in Sorrento.

Update (2014): When you book your room, send an email to the above address to Antonietta and mention my name and BLOG (Joe Massari).
It looks like they also have an online booking system on their site – that is new (I’ve never used it). Guisseppe knows me – mention my name. Make sure you tell them you want an ocean view – they even have some rooms for 4. The only downside is that it is up on the hill so you have to walk up and down to get to town. The upside is a good exercise opportunity – walk all that pasta off 🙂

Take the second steet from the right as you face the Torre de Mangia-dead ends in the Piazza del Mercato. Closed Monday. Went 5/24/02 – Very Good. House wine good (Chianti), Pappardelle with wild boar sauce excellent. Servers very nice. Prices very good (39 Euro ? for 2) Wild Boar very good – sauce excellent – order with patatene fritta (fries). No reservations needed. Try other grilled items and spaghetti pomodoro next time.
5/25/02: Went back! They do have a wine list – you must ask for it. Ribolitta (bread stew) was delicious – also, pork ribs (big pile) & Chicken Cacciatore. Plan to wait a while for your check (il conto) especially if they’re busy.
