Murano: Home of Venetian glass. Worth the trip – you can see the glass blowers at work.

Burano: Went 5/2002. Neat little fishing village – great picture taking – not much else – just lazt, quite town. Lace making museum (closed Tues.) Take Vaparetto #12 from Fondamenti Novo Area.

Have a bottle of wine – Antinori Chianti Classico at Hotel Monaco facing the Grand Canal

Closed Tues. Same owner as Acqua Pazza. Never been. Found 5/2002. Le Bistrot de Venise: Cal. Dei Fabbri, San Marco, 4685. 041-523-66-53. From San Marco go thru end Sottoportego dei Dai under awning. Follow road around and over bridge and turn right. Risotto with Eel.

THE DAY BEFORE. STAYED ON BOTTOM FLOOR IN RED ROOM FACING A CANAL. L135,000 FOR TRIPLE W/ BATH. My sister stayed here years ago – nice thing is, it’s on a canal.

Ask for room away from Street on the piazza. This is where we normally stay – great place.Directions: Take Vaporetto (water bus) #1 to S. Angelo stop. Upon departing, walk straight to a tall brick building. Take the alley on the left of the building & follow it around the corner. Cross the first bridge on the left. Go straight to a courtyard on the right. This is the hotel’s courtyard.
